The fifth session of SES – Sustainability Engagement Sessions, initiated by the Yeşilova Group in line with its sustainability vision, centered on UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.

The first SES session of 2025 was held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Amphi Hall of the Hasanağa Campus, with the participation of employees from the Holding and group companies. Moderated by Corporate Sustainability Manager Eda Çetintaş, the session hosted two speakers: Fatih Şekerci, R&D Manager at Yeşilova, and Özgür Yıldız, Production Manager at Yeşilova Extrusion.

Yeşilova’s Perspective on Innovation
In his speech, Fatih Şekerci emphasized Yeşilova Group’s R&D-driven approach and its efforts in developing innovative products. He highlighted projects focused on utilizing aluminium in lighter, more durable, and environmentally friendly ways, stating that European Union-supported collaborations play a key role in this process: “Today, innovation is not just a choice but a necessity for a sustainable future. Thanks to the experience we have gained from EU projects and the competencies of our group companies across different production fields, we continue to be an active part of the transformation in the aluminium industry.”

Investments in Solar Energy and Digital Transformation for Efficiency
Özgür Yıldız, Production Manager at Yeşilova Extrusion, provided insights into the company’s investments in renewable energy and operational efficiency. He explained that the solar energy systems (SES) installed on the roofs of the Extrusion and Automotive facilities were implemented to reduce the company’s carbon footprint: “We adopt a production approach that not only focuses on today but also plans for tomorrow. We are making our production more sustainable while also fulfilling our environmental responsibilities.”

Yıldız also underlined the efficiency gains achieved through the implementation of digital solutions for data collection in production operations. He noted that these practices significantly support the company’s sustainability goals.
